Picnic in the park

Last night the Mia Maids and Laurels had our activity - a box/bag dinner swap - at Purple Heart Park. Everyone brought a dinner in a decorated box or bag and we all swapped. It was pretty funny that all but one brought a chicken meal.
This picture is pretty dark but Haley joined us a little bit late so of course I wanted a picture with her in it too.
After we ate we made ice cream in a bag! It turned out to be a fun activity for all of us and really yummy too!
The girls had a great time shaking their bags for five minutes! The ice and rock salt mixture gets really cold.
Here's the instructions in case you would like to make your own ice cream - it's really fun.
What you'll need:
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 cup milk or half & half
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
Place the above ingredients in a sandwich or pint size baggie, seal tight.
In a gallon size Ziploc, fill half way up with ice and add 6 tablespoons rock salt.
Place your small baggie inside the large baggie and shake until mixture turns into ice cream - about five minutes!
Wipe off the top of the small bag, then open carefully and enjoy!

Cori, I'll def have to try your 'Icecream in a Bag' with my Pre-schoolers during 'I' week this next year. I had heard of it, but now have a tried and true recipe. Your Young Women are so lucky to have you, as were my girls years ago! Can you believe Leiloni is about to have her third?
Lovin your family photos! Hugs, Ronda
