falling tree!

While we were attending the dedication for the Gila Valley Temple we came home to our fallen tree. So sad! Apparently it was very windy while we were in the session, which we did not notice because we were inside a cozy church building! Luckily it just missed my mustang. We were very lucky we did not have a car parked in the spot of the driveway where it fell. The neighbors all tried continually to reach us but all cell phones were off because of the dedication. We were not able to save the tree and had to replace it with another. We really miss the shade this tree offered us!

summertime fun!

Ryan has good friends that moved away this summer so we wanted to have them come play one last time before they said their goodbyes. They had a wonderful time playing with these foam boats that Ryan earned for good behavior. He gave each of his friends a boat as a goodbye gift.

6th grade awards assembly

Reid received three awards at the 4th quarter awards assembly in May. He received the High Honor roll award (3.5 - 3.99 gpa), the Citizenship Award and the PRIDE award.

Reid had a great sixth grade year - we are so proud of him!

Last Blast!

Chase, Ryan and I all attended the elementary school's "Last Blast" before the end of the school year in May. It was Chase's last all school event at elementary school since he will be moving up to the middle school next year. The boys had fun getting free cotton candy, Eegees and popcorn and playing in the bounce houses.
We love attending the schools in this district. We are thankful to belong to an A+ school!

honors night

Austin was honored to receive several awards at Cienega's honor night. He received the President's Education Award, the Wildcat Excellence Award from the University of Arizona, President's Scholarship from Northern Arizona University, High Honor award from the high school, High Honor Tuition Waiver from the Arizona Board of Regents and the Superintendent's Certificate for his AIMS test results. Way to go Austin!

Young Women camping trip/Goodbye Laurels!

The young women from our ward went on a camping trip in May. It was wonderful to relax in the cool air. The girls worked on their skit for camp, did some cooking, we went on a short hike, learned camp songs, did service and enjoyed each other.

I gave a spiritual message while we were on our hike.

Since I have been a Young Women President we have not had any graduating laurels until this past year. We had four young women graduate from high school! We invited them all over to my home with their parents and had a night where we honored them. Each of the parents prepared some photographs and items that represented their daughter well and shared them with the group. We also gave each graduating laurel a gift of a personalized pillowcase, a scrapbooked quote book and some other little goodies. We will miss them but know they will do amazing things as they are all off to college!
