family visit to the Gila Valley temple open house

The best Mothers Day gift ever was to be inside the temple with my husband and all of our children!
So very worth the two hour drive there and two hours home. Everyone got along and I really enjoyed the Spirit! A beautiful day!

Chase's choir concert

Chase had his final elementary school choir concert on May 4. They got to perform at the Vail Performing Arts Theater. Choir has been so good for him and he has really enjoyed it. He wants to continue singing in the choir in middle school.

Phantom of the Opera Prom

Austin and Elly had a wonderful time at the high school prom. It was a Phantom of the opera theme held at the Jewish Community Center. They met up with friends for dinner at a local nice restaurant. He was glad I let them take my mustang! She looked beautiful and he looked handsome.

Cienega Choir Banquet

April 30 was the high school choir banquet. It was a nice event with a catered dinner, slide show, awards, touching tributes to the students and choir teacher, Mrs. Yount, and of course, lots of singing!
Molly received her high school letter for choir.

She also received two awards: Best Soprano in Concert Choir and Best Alto in Show Choir! She received lots of compliments that she won in two totally different categories - a wonderful compliment to her versatile singing abilities!


Molly was just elected to be choir president for the next school year - she is sure to have a lot of fun with that position as choir is her passion!

National Honor Society

Molly was inducted into the National Honor Society on April 28, 2010. They had a nice ceremony at the high school with the lighting of candles to represent the commitment. The above picture is Molly with her high school principal, receiving her certificate. Congratulations Molly!

Beauty and the Beast Jr.

Reid performed in his middle school's production of Beauty and the Beast Jr. I was able to attend both morning performances and one evening show. Reid played a villager and the Egg man. He was actually on stage a lot, had a couple solo lines, sang a lot of songs andgot to be in the big dance number and in a fight scene!
During the first half of sixth grade he joined drama as a "techie" and enjoyed it but wanted to give acting a try. He liked it and was really great at it. Good job Reid!

band banquet

I can't believe this is the only picture I have from the band banquet! We had an enjoyable time at this years band banquet. It was a catered event with a yummy dinner, a slide show and awards. Austin (and all of the graduating seniors) were recognized special at this event. We enjoyed sitting with Elly's mom and grandmother this year and the opportunity to get to know them better.

Youth trip to Gila Valley temple open house

Saturday, April 24 the youth of our ward had the opportunity to attend the open house of the Gila Valley temple. It was a wonderful experience! We had a picnic lunch at a nearby park and then enjoyed our time at the temple.

Stake Youth Conference!

April 16 and 17 was Stake Youth Conference - Latter-Day Army of Israel!
Molly was one of the youth selected to be on the planning committee. Since this event conflicted a lot with the school musical she was able to go to all the planning meetings and for most of Saturday but she missed the fireside on Friday night because she was performing.

The stake leaders did a great job on the decorating...a big banner welcoming all the youth.

And once inside the building they decorated like you were entering the mess hall tent. Very well done!

The stake really did a great job not only on the decorations but with the program. They had a choice of three service projects in the morning (baby blankets, a Eagle project at TROT (therapeutic riding of Tucson), and putting together kits for foster kids.
They had a variety of classes the youth could choose from in the afternoon. I heard all were very well done and enjoyed. I was able to attend the lunch and the closing testimony meeting. I enjoyed the testimonies of the youth very much.
