Summer fun

Yesterday morning Reid and Ryan had a blast playing with the water hose. It was about 8 a.m. and already hot!
Ryan had his last day of 'dinosaur camp' yesterday afternoon. They made these dinosaur egg pinatas. It was exciting that he actually put his hands into the gooey glue mixture to make the pinata and that he painted the egg himself. He is doing really well with some of his sensory issues. He also separated with me extremely well, only having one bad day where he clung to me. Overall the camp was a huge success - we are hoping this continues for a smooth transition to kindergarten.
When we got home we opened his egg and found the dinosaur themed treats his teachers had hidden inside. He got dinosaur fruit snacks, a party blower, a small dino toy, and a dinsosaur sticker.
Austin is finishing up his last day volunteering at the middle school today for their lego robotics camp. He has really enjoyed it. Today he brought in his robotics system since he has the new version and the schools work with an older version so all the kids can see the differences.
Chase has one more week of his sensory camp. I think he is looking forward to staying home with the rest of us although he does enjoy it once he is there.
Monday morning Austin and Molly head to Flagstaff for a week of EFY - Especially for Youth - a youth camp sponsored by BYU. We will miss them being gone all week but know they will have a blast.

I am so glad Ryan did so well at his camp!
I wish I could play in the water...it has been so hot! I am dying for a swimming pool.
EFY will be so fun for Molly and Austin!

Sounds like Ryan is coming along nicely and that kindergarten should be another fun adventure for him. I'm jealous of the whole EFY thingy. I wish I could go! Next time the boys are hot...make the sponge bombs on my blog...I want to know how well they work!

My kids and I are doing lots of water activities in the backyard. This involves spraying down the entire yard so that our feet do not burn off! Much too hot to do anything else. Today was a 109 degrees!

I remember EFY! I did the same program for the deaf at BYU called EFD for three years (Esp for the Deaf) It is such as neat way to spend the summer!

Glad to hear how well Ryan is doing.
