I had grand plans...

I had grand plans to get up today and get so much done but as the day is coming to a close there is not much checked off my 'to-do' list. I must admit this day has come and gone and I have not even left my house.

My sweet husband put up this vinyl lettering in our laundry room that I have owned for over a year! I like it. He also however told me that I am not allowed to buy anymore vinyl lettering as it is very time consuming to put up on textured walls. He is a sweetie for being so patient with me.

I did get laundry done today, I worked on yw camp stuff for a few hours, I made a lot of phone calls, I helped Austin get started on summer homework for his AP classes. We need to buy over 30 books for him to read this summer-ouch to the pocketbook. I also took the time to watch the entire movie of Pride and Prejudice (the version with Keira Knightley). James came in from a moment while I was watching but he says he just can't handle to even try to understand the storyline so he promptly left, but at least he understands that I enjoy it.

I also got a handle on our bedroom, we have no problem keeping up with the laundry and even folding it, but then it sits in neat piles in our bedroom....waiting days to be put away. Is anyone else like that? Also, my 104 shirt ownership is growing I must confess that it is truly time to purge the closet. That effort must come sooner than later. Molly came in looking for a hanger and I didn't have a single one to give up.

Where did the day go??? It actually felt nice. It was a good Saturday. I must say my Sundays are never this restful (and that is not a good thing.)
Our friends, the Sanfords, brought us this bowl of yummy apricots tonight. Good thing I snapped a picture quick because they are sure to be gone by the time this post is published. Ryan is eating them up like candy. They are so good and sweet and are a treat to us!

I guess today was a grand day after all...

I know I've visited you before, but do I know you personally by chance? I know some Sanfords here, and I think that's what got me wondering. I'm from Boise, but can't tell where you're at. Anyhow, I just dropped in to thank you for your comment. I think it's very cleansing to have a good cry from time to time :)!

And yes--I love to wash, dry, and fold the laundry---but putting it away just seems like TOO much. After all, it is totally accessible from the hamper, right ;)?!

Have a great Sunday!

Cori - Sometimes you just need a "down-time" day for yourself and there's nothing wrong with that. I love the original Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth...it's a great story and I have watched it several times. I am also great at the washing...it's just the execution of getting the clothes in the drawers/closet that has me at a loss at times. So - see...you're quite normal!

I LOVE the sign in your laundry room!
The next time you want to buy vinyl lettering (even though James has forbidden it:).....) just call me. We'll cut you a piece of pine, router the edges, paint it, and make you a sign. Then, if you ever want to move it, you can!
I have lots of days like the one you mentioned. In fact, my Saturday was a lot like yours. I also enjoy Pride & Prejudice, but I have to admit, I like to book the best.

If you actually got your laundry done that day, trust me, you got a LOT done that day

Now, perhaps you can come over and do my laundry? (I hate every part of the laundry: wash, dry, fold, put away)

Put away? that never happens.
