I'm beginning to collect items for our summer young women camp. Our theme is B.O.O.T. camp - Building Our Own Testimonies. When I wore the pink ribbon on my whistle at the camp kick-off some of the other leaders teased me saying they will never be able to take the craft lady out of me. (The last two years I served as stake camp craft specialist - this year I am the Adult YCL leader) I think they secretly like my pink ribbon! :)
Look what I found at the Target dollar spot! I am going to fill these with goodies and give them to the head ycl's. I am on the hunt for all things camo so give me a shout if you see something you think I might like.I know some friends have mentioned their wards/stakes have done this theme before and I would love to hear and truly appreciate your sharing of any/all ideas of activities, decorating, hand-outs, devotionals.

I totally TOTALLY love this idea. My mom was stake camp director for 12 years in a row and they did a MASH thing. I don't know what they did for the wording for MASH, but I definitely love the BOOT theme!
Idea: Black stick to draw lines under eyes or cameoflage (sp?)stick for awesome pictures of the girls.
Skit: Centered around the MASH TV show
Make tie dye shirts in cameoflage colors as activity with the girls
boot camp involves learning to shoot, Slogan ideas: maybe "shoot for the stars? Aim for the best etc. etc.
I am getting EXCITED for camp!!!!!
If only the girls knew and/or apprecited all the hard work that goes into preparing for camp.
Oh well, someday it will be their turn to plan! :)

My idea book gives the number 1888-864-9105 for personalized dog tags, or make your own. Might be worth a looksee. Another idea might be to play on the word service, or ARMy navy etc. Go crazy with the acronyms. We are going nautical, with the come back home theme. Our wards camp is going to be lifeboats. Other will be cruise ships etc. We're thinking our skit will be like castaway, where the lifeboat saves them and brings others home. Also, doing a "getting fired up" for camp night. Need ideas. So far we're making pretzel fires for treats.Any help would be appreciated. I need an update. Who is your new bishop? Are you part of the new ward or the old ward etc. How wonderful to be able to sit by your husband again.
