my week...

It has been awhile since I posted - everything is fine, just living life. On Saturday I got to attend a card club I joined with my friend who is a Close to my Heart consultant. I LOVE going to Angela's home - I really enjoy paper crafting. I am not great at it, but it is very relaxing to me.
On Sunday evening (Aug. 17) Ryan lost his very first tooth! We didn't even know it was loose until Sunday morning and it was really loose. We figured right that it would come out that day. The tooth fairy brought him four quarters for his tooth, a lucky boy!

Monday afternoon I was scheduled to volunteer in Ryan's class for their 5 Senses Day, but when I got to the school Reid was in the office calling home for someone to come get him. He was playing frisbee at recess and got hit in his front tooth again so he only had 3/4 a tooth. I jokingly said to the dental assistant, "I think he's under warranty" She checked when he had it fixed the first time (when his tooth met the sidewalk) and found out it was Dec. 2007 so since it hasn't been a year yet they didn't charge us! Whew! Reid is good as new now. I told Ryan he lost a tooth and so did Reid.

The Laurels and Mia Maids did this flip flop craft on Wednesday. The girls were so creative - they each used their own color combinations for their flip flops. I enjoyed making mine pink, I still need to trim my fabric a little more before they will be complete. I don't know that I will actually wear them (they are cute, but just not my thing) but I loved the process of cutting the fabric! It sounds silly, but it was my first time using a cutting blade - man, how great are those!!! It was a great craft to do while talking with all the girls too so that makes it a winner in my book.

On Thursday I had an appointment across town with a new orthopedic surgeon. Since I had my artificial hip placed in 2001 I am supposed to have an appointment yearly but I have put it off a few years because I just was not happy with the surgeon I first found when I moved here to Tucson. I must say I am so pleased with this new doctor. He was very personable and kind and reassuring. (My hip is looking good, he gave me some pain pills for the bad days and a shoe lift for my leg length difference...I need to do more strengthen exercises and I was cleared that I don't need to see him again for two more years - hurray!) The appointment was a long one and is always somewhat emotional when discussing the possiblity of surgery so afterwards I treated myself to some alone time shopping. Since my dr. appt. was about 45 minutes away I was in a completely different part of town so there was new stores to explore.
In Gilbert, AZ and in St. George, Utah I have been to a store that sells home decor called Real Deals. Well, Tucson got one in October but I hadn't made it there until yesterday. I'm in love!

I purchased this yellow platter (I even bought a second one for a gift) and the easel. Should I admit the plate was only $8.76 and it is totally food safe, and the easel was $4.29!
I also bought these topiary ball for my Ikea holders. I normally have live plants in them but these are much easier to keep looking nice! I went for the first time to Foothills Mall and I discovered that Tucson has a Kirkland's Home! Why didn't anyone ever tell me? LOL! I got these red canisters for my kitchen. I like how they look but also that they seal air-tight.

Since I was at the mall I stopped in to Bath & Body Work and found my new favorite thing!
Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Stress Relief Hand Soap. I can't tell you how many times I unscrew the top to get a whiff - ahhhh. My favorite scent is Eucalyptus Spearmint. The label states "Think clearly. Eucalyptus Essential Oil clears the mind to improve concentration. Spearmint Essential Oil is uplifting and helps the mind to focus." I say it is heaven in a bottle. I love it! It is normally $6 each but you can get it now for less than $3 since they have there 7 for $20 sale happening.

I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend. One of the Young Women in our ward is getting baptized tomorrow - we are all very excited for her special day. I'm to give the talk on the Holy Ghost, need to get preparing for that. Chase has his ninth birthday Monday, we will have a family party then and a friend party later in the week. I hope your weekend is wonderful!

Bath and Body Works ROCKS!

(mm-ah-ah,ah-ah mm-ah-ah, ah-ah..think high school cheer routine here)

LOVE the red canisters! My fave accent color!

And I would totally wear those flip flops. What a cute idea for me to get ugly but comfy flip flops and make 'em cute for Leah.

Thanks for the window shopping!

Our girls did the flip-flops at girls camp with leftover fabric from their camp pj pants. They came back so dirty. I saw some other girls wearing flip flop done with water balloons. I thought we'd have to try that. Love your finds and for sharing them. We have this awesome outlet mall in Park City, UT. There is a bath and body works. Just snagged some yummy grapefruit body spray. To finish this little book, I am so glad to hear your hip appt. was a good one. luv ya and miss ya.

I have one leg longer than the other, too, from when I broke my leg 3 years ago. Now we can bond with our shoe lifts. :)
